Mommasita

At the end of last month Mom came out for Easter and what she likes to call "Kristen-time." She arrived on a Thursday afternoon and took BART to Berkeley where her sweet son-in-law picked her up from the station. A few hours later I was home from work and so excited to see Mom when I walked in the front door.

On Friday we met for lunch in SF and hung out at home in the evening. Sometimes the greatest nights are those spent at home just catching up and relaxing.

Sunday morning rolled around after the Easter Bunny made her stop at our house -- Andrew was quite excited about his stash of candy. Mom got both of us a big box of Frango chocolates (we're still working on them....haha).

Thankfully the drive up to Sacramento on Easter isn't as bad as Thanksgiving. An hour and a half after attending the Easter service at our church in Berkeley we arrived at the Calnero's for Easter dinner.

Aunt Carol did a spectacular job setting the table and the flowers Mom and I brought added a splash of color. Doesn't it look like an ad from Pottery Barn or something?! So pretty.

It was a real treat to have Lauren around for the whole day. She just wrapped up her second year of law school (i.e. the reason we don't get to see her as often as we'd like to). She's doing great and has 2 spectacular internships setup for the next year. Slowly but surely lawyers are taking over our family! ;) YAY for free legal advice haha

And of course no girls weekend would have been complete without a shellac manicure. Mom is also obsessed with this wonder liquid now -- it's a dangerous but oh so pretty habit to get into.

Starting on Tuesday Mom stayed in the city with a friend to be closer to her trade show. We managed to squeeze in two more coffees before she left on Thursday.

It's always hard to say goodbye, but we knew we'd be seeing each other again in just over a week. And little did she know that I'd be seeing her AGAIN for Courtney's graduation....

It's always fun visiting Kristen and Andrew in California. They're doers and that makes every trip memorable....and it's true...I do love my "Kristen-time"!!!

If you haven't been out to see them yet I highly recommend it.

xoxo Mom
