Home in October

Each fall I have a series of meetings with Minneapolis managers which means each October/November I get to come home for a few days! Sometimes traveling for work is exhausting and stressful, other times it's fantastic :)

I made in home just in time to see the Twin last home game of the season. The weather was perfect and the stadium is gorgeous - such an improvement over the Dome.

Someone had a really cute idea to put a giant Twins glove on the plaza for photo ops. Kids and adults alike love climbing onto it and slide off. It's the simple things in life ;)

Mikey also made for a cute picture.

Sheri and Micah has partial season tickets to the Twins so they were also there for the last game of the season. We were all hoping and praying the Twins would win to keep their losing record from rolling into the triple digits. In a nail biting 9th inning the boys pulled it out and won the game! Which meant they only racked up 99 losses this season haha

Truth be told we were all getting anxious to go once the giant water beetles from the Mississippi river started dive-bombing everyone in the stands. Imagine a giant flying cockroach multiplied by thousands....ewwww. We later learned the water beetles are actually the largest insect in North America and sucks the guts out of fish for dinner - oh and their bite is apparently extremely painful. Luckily we heard this was the first night they came out all season which is good news because I'm pretty sure all the ladies in the crowd would think twice about coming back to face the water beetles :)

On Friday, Mom, Grandma and I swung by Courtney's office (yes, she has an office with a window and everything!!). It's in a great old building and she looked great. It was so fun to see her in her element.

For weeks the Krutz clan had been working on their entries for the scarecrow contest at the MN Zoo. Later on Friday we finished up the two down at Uncle Bob's and muched on some pizza.

The Hofflander crew also submitted an entry - "Bear-erina". It was so darling to see all of the little girls at the zoo posing next to the scarecrow in various dancer poses.

After watching the judges make the rounds with their clipboards, we were over the moon excited when the porcupine won first place and $500!!!!

The rest of the weekend was spent checking out Court's apartment, watching Allie McBeal, playing with Mindy, etc.

It's amazing how often I get home. I am so lucky! The next trip home we have scheduled is for the week after Christmas and it can't come soon enough.
