What were the others doing?

While we went on our ambitious day hike to Ribbon Falls, here's what the others were up to...

Ryan, Karen and Caroline spent the day hiking on the trails around Phantom Ranch and along the Colorado River.

Its seems that regardless of where you hike in the GC you'll experience wonderful vistas. You really can't go wrong :)

All of us were already totally in love with the whole multi-day GC experience by the second day, so we started throwing out ideas for our next family trip to the park. There is a general consensus that a river rafting trip down the Colorado River would be an awesome way to see the canyon and get to experience the river firsthand!

Away from the park, Mom and Grandma spent a day and a half checking out Jerome and Sedona. The highlight of their trip - a hot air balloon ride (I'm so jealous!!)

Mom and Grandma both said the experience was wonderful and not scary at all. Their balloon driver (are they called drivers?? hahaha) took them over some beautiful parts of Sedona and even dipped down into the trees.

They were also blessed with nice weather and made many memories of their own tooling around the towns, checking out local restaurants and doing a bit of shopping.

As if a balloon ride alone wouldn't be great, when they softly returned to earth the crew had mimosas, fresh strawberries and apple fritters waiting. As usual, everyone loved Grandma - the guys even made her a sort of hot air balloon 'sculpture' out of the champagne cork and cage. Isn't it cute :)

Even cuter is my silly, fun, loving G'ma. She has so much spunk and life. With any luck at all, I will be as cool as her when I'm in my 70's.
