Andrew Wins Astronaut Scholarship

On September 10, 2008 Andrew was awarded the Astronaut Scholarship by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. The award is presented to "college students who exhibit motivation, imagination, and exceptional performance in the science or engineering field of their major." This year 19 students from across the country were awarded this scholarship.

Astronaut Al Worden of the Apollo 15 mission came to the University of Minnesota to present Andrew the scholarship - and a giant check! Andrew is a mini-celebrity around campus now after appearing on the University website, in the University newspaper and on the local 5 o'clock news. In May Andrew and I will attend the 2009 Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction weekend at NASA in Cape Canaveral, FL.
