It was a sibling kind of month in February. In addition to having Ryan around, Courts came out over her spring break for a long weekend.
Courts arrived late on a Friday night and early Saturday morning we were on the road down to LA for a mini sister-weekend. The drive down to LA is long and straight (beautiful at points but mostly just boring). We started getting a bit kooky about 4 hours into the 6 hour drive....oh and McDonald's soft serve cones are well worth the $1 :)
Before heading over to our dance class (Courts got us passes to a local dance class for my birthday - we celebrated a bit early haha), we checked out mom's new office in Beverly Hills.
The courtyard at her building is great - I was happy to catch some vitamin D.
After our dance class we checked into our hotel, had a picnic lunch in our room, took a nice dip in the hot tub and turned in for the night. The last leg of our trip was out to Claremont McKenna college where Court's friend, Riley, from Semester's (the study abroad trip Courts did sailing in the Mediterranean) attends. We had a great brunch and toured the campus before jumping back on the road. It was a quick trip down to LA but well worth the drive for some sister bonding time and chance to meet Riley :)
The other item on our agenda while Courts was in town was to see Julie at Dreamworks. Our cousin Julie has been working at Dreamworks for about 7 months now and is doing great. Not only is the Dreamworks building very cool (art everywhere, a screening room, decorated cubicles, etc.) but employees get multiple hot meals a day at work, access to the gym and free classes of all different sorts (for example drawing and sound production).
I've mentioned before that these two are double-trouble when they get together. Don't they just look guilty/mischievous? haha
Looking forward to seeing this lady and her family this Sunday for Easter.
There's talk of a Hofflander/Krutz/Calnero girls trip to Vegas. I can only imagine the raucous we'd cause :)
