Amy and I had been wanting to go to St. George Spirits for 6+ months and a few weeks ago we finally got to go! We booked an afternoon tour and tasting at the distillery which is most well known for producing Hangar One Vodka - the name comes from the location of the distillery, an old airplane hangar on the port of Oakland.
We did the tour first and then a 10 part tasting which included absinthe, the other thing St. George Spirits is well known for. St. George was the first distillery in the US to start producing absinthe a few years ago.
The coffee liqueur ('Firelit') included in the tasting was absolutely delicious - Amy and I were instantly in love with it. And lucky for me, Amy bought a bottle on the way out haha
Andrew on the other hand, was loving the absinthe ;)
And St. George Spirits was just the beginning of the day - afterwards we got food with the Sacia's at our favorite Mexican joint, got a bottle of wine and went to watch the sunset on Indian Rock and then came back to our house for an evening of cards and Catchphrase. A perfect Saturday with wonderful friends....
