Bangkok, Thailand

We've had a great time in Bangkok! It is definitely one of our favorite "big cities". There is a mix of old and new, shopping and sights. Our first night in town we went to a Muay Thai boxing match. We had seats in the first row just behind the officials. I had a surprisingly good time - it was less brutal/bloody than I thought it would be. There was only major blood during one of the ten matches.

Us with the winner of the big fight of the night - he got a knockout.

Me and the Reclining Buddha at the famous Wat Pho Temple. It was MASSIVE!

The buildings and temples of Wat Pho are decorated in colorful, glittering glass.

This is the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (temple).

One of our many purchases at the markets . . .

We took a boat ride over the river to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn).

It was our favorite temple because we got to climb up it and get a great view of the city!

It was very ornate with men, women and creatures "holding it up".

We've had a great time in Thailand and now we're off to Cambodia :)

I've tried a couple of times to post without luck, but will give it one more try.
Adam and Katie are on their way home after having one of their small backpacks stolen from them at the train station in Barcelona. They lost their passports, Katie's ID's, and worst of all, their camera with all of their pictures on it.
Anyway, you'll be hearing from them soon - they are in Frankfurt hopefully catching a plane in about 6-7 hours to Chicago.
Safe travels to you,
Lori Larson
