It takes about 35 minutes to drive Moraga, CA which is on the other side of the Berkeley Hills. You actually drive through the hills by way of a really long tunnel.
St. Mary's has a beautiful campus with mission style architecture, lush lawns and well manicured gardens. It looked like a nice resort of sorts.

Peter's dorm room, on the other hand, looked very much like a typical boy's bedroom. Him and two other guys live in this room with one window, two closets, a sink and a lot of stuff hehe

Moraga is a pretty small town so we drove 20 minutes to Walnut Creek to get dinner. Walnut Creek is a nice suburban town with an adorable Main Street and tons of great shopping and restaurants. We decided to eat at Tomatina, an Italian restaurant.

The food was really tasty - the boys ate a TON of pizza and I had flatbread sandwich - but my favorite part was all of the pictures on the wall of "Tomatina".
"La Tomatina" is a food fight festival held on the last Wednesday of August each year in the town of Bunol, Spain. Tens of thousands of participants come from all over the world to fight in a brutal battle where more than one hundred metric tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets. Andrew and I didn't get a chance to partake in this when we were in Spain, but doesn't it look fun?!?! Messy but a blast, I bet!!!

We always have a good time hanging out with Peter and love seeing all of our cousins out here in California!

So happy you are connecting with family out there! I love that the California cousins are having so much fun together. Should we have a food fight at Christmas? That would be a new tradition!
