Our First Visitors

This past week we had our first visitors! Courtney flew in from Minnesota on Saturday, August 29th to spend five days with us in Berkeley.

Andrew's cousin Peter joined us for the day - Peter just started his freshman year at St Mary's, a college just over the hill from Berkeley.

After walking around campus and Telegraph (a popular street filled with shops and restaurants) we grabbed lunch and then headed for the farmers market to get fresh fruit for smoothies.

Our smoothies were a smashing success. I think Courts and I probably had a dozen in the five days she was here :)

The Thursday prior to Courts arrival I received a call from mom saying that she could come visit for a day before speaking at a conference in San Jose (about an hour away). Crazy how things just seem to work out!!

Aunt Carol and Tess were able to come down for Sunday brunch. It was great to have a full house!

Only 10 minutes from our house, up on a hill is Tilden Regional Park. A couple of weeks ago we found a great viewpoint overlooking San Francisco, Oakland, the Golden Gate Bridge and the ocean beyond.

As usual the fog and clouds make the view a little hard to see - but on a clear day it's incredible!

In my attempt to show Courts all things Berkeley/Californian, we got coffee at Pete's instead of Starbucks.

Ahh, brotherly love . . .

We can't wait to host more visitors. You are all welcome any time! You can fly into San Francisco or Oakland - start looking for flights ;)
