Hanging out before the Zulu parade. It looks warmer than it actually was - it was freezing out of the sun.
Nothing like some good Mardi Gras 'bling' to get the bead collection stared.
Just the beginning of 9 hours of floats and BEADS, oh so many beads!
On Monday Adam and Andrew picked up a "King's Cake" for us to devour between the parades. The King's Cake is a tradition that was brought over to the US by colonists from France and Spain. The purple represents the passion of Christ, the green represents hope and the gold the rewards of leading a Christian life. It was delicious!!
The Rex parade. By far the most stunning of the 4 parades.
After the parades we made our way to Bourbon Street (see the tiny sign in the background?) but not before purchasing a couple of Hurricanes - we figured when in Rome..... ;)
It was packed, wild, fun - definitely something everyone should put on their bucket list!
The only shot of the four of us. We look a little rough since we'd been celebrating for 15 hours at this point. It's so fun to be with Katie and Adam - always adventurous and memorable.
One more post from Louisiana to come....
